New York

My mother, sister and I travel to New York every August for 5 days and we tend to stay in the Soho area. We have stayed frequently at the Sheraton but are looking for a change. Does anyone recommend a hotel or other accommodation ie Airbnb to stay.
Thank you.

Just FYI - AirBnB is illegal in NYC (stays less than 30 days).

NYC has outlawed short-term rentals, so almost anything you find on AIrBnB will be an illegal rental.

Do NOT risk this. The city is cracking down on these illegal apartments, with tenants illegally subletting being evicted and landlords illegally holding apartments off the market facing fines starting with $2500 per day. That's if the apartment isn't a scam.

You should make sure there will be a place for you to stay that is safe and meets fire laws - book a legitimate hotel.

OP said she was looking for another hotel in the Soho area before she mentioned Airbnb. What would you all recommend?

If it doesn't have to be in Soho, have a look at the Elysée, a lovely boutique hotel in a good location. Free wine, etc. reception every evening and a buffet continental breakfast included in the rate.
