New Years w/kids
Hi,
We're looking to do something beginning Dec. 28th and returning home on Jan. 1 or 2. We live in northern NJ and aren't looking to travel more than 4 or 5 hours. We looked into the Hershey's New Years party, but they ar ebooked. Anyone know of anything else that would include kids, ages 10 and 13. Thanks. |
Have you ever tried skiing? It's fun!
|
No we haven't.....we like sledding, but my daughter doesn't like heights and won't do the lift.....thanks anyway!
|
Hoping maybe someone else has an idea? TIA

First Night in Boston. Lots of street and indoor activities for all ages. In days before and after you can skate on Frog Pond on Boston Common and there are a few very local tubing, skiing, areas (less than 30 minutes away and small enough to qualify as hills, not mountains - so height issue should be minimal).

I think Red Bank, NJ had something last year as part of "First Night"....just in case you didn't want to travel far from home. I'm sure there are plenty of other places with a "First Night". Red Bank's was rocking! as I was having dinner a block away from the action.

One year my friends and I rented a HUGE wonderful house in Cape May, right along the walking strip of downtown. Compared to summer prices, the house worked out to be about $50/pp total for the 4 nights housing and we slept a lot of people. There was even room for more as the house had many sofabeds. It wasn't the most exciting, but it was a change in scenery, peaceful and we were not far from Wildwood and the boardwalk. You could even take the ferry to DE and explore over there as well.

Thanks to all who responded! We have a pretty big First Night in Morristown which is near where we live. But this year we're going to go to Boston, thanks gail, which aside from First Night has some other really great things for the kids, such as 5-WITS which I stumbled across and looks great for kids),and the aquarium.
