New Year's in Orlando

We will be spending New Year's in Orlando and would appreciate any suggestions from people who have been there for this holiday?

We will be staying at the Sheraton Vistana and have 3 day Disney passes. Please let me know how convenient this property in relation to attractions (Disney and others).

Also, what kind of weather can we expect?

Warm during the day and chilly at night unless there is a cold snap.

Disney is crazy New Years Eve. I suggest Epcot for adults.

Pleasure Island will cost a fortune per person.

TG, GoTravel has fond thoughts about Florida. She may even BE a Floridian now, not sure, she was planning a move to the Sunshine State. But as a current resident, sitting in my Tampa house after a cold front just brought us a predicted low of 53 and a high of 64 today, I have to warn you that Florida, like elsewhere, gets quite chilly and rainy in December. The rains are less frequent in January but it can still be quite chilly. A wet humid chilly that gets into your bones. This can linger a day or two before it's sunny and pleasant, so be prepared.

I've always wanted to try Disney for New Years because disney does fireworks in a big way -- but didn't want to do the drive.

Tandoori,

Is it true? GoT joining us in the Sunshine State? Giving up her beloved SC? ;-)

LOL! South Florida is my true love but alas, no.

The company that bought out Mr.GoTravel wanted him to come to work for them but it didn't work out well.

I'm still on my marsh in SC for the time being! Not a bad place

My brother lives in Dunedin so I have some clue as to weather conditions and being New Englanders we are used to cold, damp weather so Florida cannot be worse.

Is the Sheraton Vistana conveniently located to restaurants, etc?

I did it once. We did three days at Disney as well. Get up early and hit Animal Kingdom. Great one to see. Epcot is the next one.

We had dinner at Arthurs 27 which was great. Very nice. Jacket may be needed.

We did for NY the outside shops, clubs, restaurants on Disney Property. I can't think of the name for some reason. We saw three bands that night. It was fun! Plenty of drinking and food.
