New Year's Eve -- Oahu

My daughter will be on her honeymoon on Oahu during New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Does anyone know of special events for them to look for?

Thanks

Topping for Connie. I'm wondering too! I went to the calendar at gohawaii.com but didn't see anything fun. I think the newspapers, starbulletin.com and honoluluadvertiser.com, will publish those happenings in another couple of weeks.

I don't know if you think this is special - but we did..... A couple years ago, we were in New Zealand for new years eve - then caught a plane to Oahu, and we had new years eve again (love that date line). We sat on the beach in Waikiki and watched fireworks being set off from offshore. It was really neat. There were alot of people there, and it was alot of fun.

MelissaHI, I checked some sites and didn't see much either.

Debi, your experience sounds delightful. I just wanted to be sure they knew where to go for the local festivities.

Thanks

It is hard to say where to go, because most locals celebrate at home...lots of food and fireworks!

The Hilton and Sheraton will both usually have some sort of show--tends to be a big star from the past- and many of the restaurants will have a nice meal.

oooo, lcuy, will you be serving mussel poke? Can I come your house for New Year's Eve?

BTW PakePorkChop's daughter is home from India. She is now also schooled in the Kathak dance.

Also funny..my daughter just let me know she got accepted for study abroad in India next fall.

and even more funny...I am now curiously ono for mussel poke...

WELL, BIG NEWS!
Wayne Newton will be performing at the Hilton HV on New Years.

Don't know if it is GOOD news. Depends on your taste
