New Venezia Tower at Venetian Las Vegas, New Bellagio Tower

The new Venezia Tower is open. The website indicates room sizes are the same as the older rooms, and the photos show that the layout and such is identical. The upgrades appear to be flat screen TV's, private check-in, separate pool. Is there anything else? Does all this justify the price difference?

Anyone know when the new tower will be open at Bellagio?

I stayed at the Venezia Tower in August. The rooms are the same size as in the original tower, although they do feel bigger because they have higher ceilings. What you've listed are the major differences. I would also add that the furnishings are also nicer in the new tower. The separate pool is pretty cool - it's a small, secluded area built to look like an Italian garden. The separate check-in is also nice b/c you don't have to wait in line with hordes of other people as you do when checking into the other tower. The downside to me is location - it is quite a hike to the casino - and entails taking two separate elevators. If you intend on spending a lot of time in the casino and/or going back and forth from your room to the casino, it can be a hassle. The upside is that it is pretty convenient to the front entrance - so if you are more the type of visitor that walks the strip, it's in a good spot.

I don't know what the difference in price is (I was comped the room) but I don't think it's worth a lot more.

Stayed in the Venezia tower in July and have stayed at Venetian twice before in the older section.

My first comment would be that I didn't think the bed was as comfortable as it was in the older tower. I had been looking forward to the bed because it was a soft, but firm mattress. Not so in the new tower. The linens and bedspread were nice because it was still new so no complaints. Just the mattress.

We had a great view of the Mirage from out window and could see the volcano, which was fun.

Once you get used to the elevator thing, which can be complicated it was okay. We had a car and ended up taking 3 elevators to get to the room. This is wierd because the hotel is on top of the parking garage. My partner was at a conference there and everything was in the hotel, so mostly they took 2 elevators.

The desk at the Venezia tower was rarely busy, so that would be an advantage and the staff was very helpful. We checked out close to checkout time and they were prepared for the rush. Previously we had checked out on the TV, but for some reason it was showing someone elses room # on our TV. (They were having a good time)

We went to the pool, but not until late afternoon and could find lounge chairs easily, and were brought towels by the staff. Drink service at the pool was a bit slow and as they had told us they were closing the bar (not sure what time pool closes) we ordered two rounds each.

In all honesty, the room sizes are identical as well as the bathrooms. The flat screen I have at home.

It was nice to stay in the new tower, but as price is usually a consideration for me, I wouldn't pay extra for the new tower. But that's me.

Thanks for the replies.
That's exactly what I wanted to know.

I stayed at the Venezia towers in July, after booking the Venetian with some trepidation...The rooms were more than I'd hoped for. And the flat screen really is fun!! Bypassing that hourlong wait at the front desk and going to the private checkin is just swell; its definitely worth a few extra bucks. The concierge level was nice, with cocktails in the afternoon, but the breakfast was pretty scanty.
All in all, I'd pay the extra money because of the complaints I'd heard about the old section being run down...
When I walked into the Venezia towers, I felt like I was walking into some luxe hotel in Europe!! Even though I knew it was just pretend!! Very fun! I'd love to go back...I guess it all depends on the difference ... to me it'd be worth an extra $75...
