Anytime, some of the best festivals/events are IN the Summer months - Like White Linen Night, Dirty Linen Night & the classic Red Dress Run.

SAnParis2 - you forgot the Running of the Bulls with the "bulls" being the Rollerderby girls.

And in the summer you just plan accordingly- inside activities in the heat of the day, outside in the morning and evening.

Good point about summer hotel prices. We had originally planned to go to Louisiana one year in May, but then had to postpone the trip a month. I rebooked our hotels for our new dates in June and saved a bunch. July and August prices are probably even better. June was pretty warm, but ok. I think August would still be tough though, even with cheap hotel rates.
