New Orleans volunteer vacation

My husband and I are planning a trip to New Orleans in March and were thinking of combining our vacation with doing some volunteer work there. I've checked with Habitat for Humanity but they seem to have enough volunteers for March which is great news. Does anyone have any other suggestions for organizations we could contact about doing 2-3 days of work while in NO? Thanks!

Thanks. That's wonderful.
You can try Acorn at www.acorn.org/katrina

Check with your local Baptist or Methodist pastor - both organizations have work sites throughout the Gulf Coast area.

The St. Bernard Project is doing a lot of good work in hard-hit St. Bernard Parish, just outside of New Orleans.
