New Orleans - Swamp Tour?
One of our party visiting New Orleans in September wants to see swamp stuff -- alligators, etc., maybe from an airboat. Has anyone experienced a good swamp tour in the area, within 30-miles or so of the city?

We took a tour in late May with Honey Island Swamp Tours (located in Slidell).
We saw many alligators, turtles, and birds, as well as the swamp itself. We were very pleased. Others we spoke to who had taken tours closer to town missed the gators. Location and warm weather seem to bring them out.

Black Guidry's (sp), near Houma is fabulous. He does some kind of "hooting" that brings the gators to the side of the boat. He's also constructed an accordian and plays and sings cajun favorites while the boat skims along the bayou. It was a lot of fun.
Honey Island is a MUST!!!!!!!!!!!! The pictures that you'll get from there will be incredible. Also another good one is in Houma. It's called Munson's. The rest aren't anywhere near as good and we did most of them.
Lil Cajan Swamp Tours. They will also provide you with hotel pick up. Total cost of tour is 31.00 per person includes transportation. This was a very interesting tour with a guy who knew his stuff. Not a lot of glitter, no line ups, just a great tour. I would highly recomment it.
