New Orleans - Romantic but Non Expensive Restaurants

Going to be visiting N.O. mid-july, would like to find some nice, romantic restaurants that are not terribly pricey.
Also, things we shouldnt miss?

I'm not sure what you mean by "not terribly pricey". And, "romantic" dining is difficult to find these days, as most places are chock full of "convivial" folks, so "quiet and romantic" is nearly impossible. Usually, in July, it is too hot to enjoy dining in the courtyard, which is usually quieter than indoors.

Anyway, on our most recent visit, our favorite dining experiences, that were also quiet and romantic, were Broussard's and Brigtsen's. Not quite as quiet, but very nice, were Bistro at Hotel de Ville, Bayona, and Palace Cafe.

The more moderately priced dining destinations, in my experience, are simply too busy and loud to be described as "nice, romantic".

One supremely nice and romantic destination is the Lobby Lounge at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

JD-I've been researching inexpensive places for our trip over Labor Day. Have you printed out the restaurant coupons available on-line yet? That's a good start. I decided to pass on the romantic for the eay-on-the-wallet instead. Besides, most places will be so darn loud with people-unless you've got the big bucks for ritzy places, why not get a bargain with the coupon deals?

Cannon's on St.Charles Ave. looks good-buy an entree, get one free.

Courtyard by Marriott(no coupon needed) also on St. Charles offers an affordable breakfast buffet.(can't eat at Cafe Du Monde every morning!)

Be sure to print all the coupons available and then look the restaurants up on-line. Some have toll-free #'s so you can check out the specifics of the deals. I know we're gonna save some money this way. Ya'll have a great trip.

I know the name is corny - but try Feelings Cafe. www.feelingscafe.com It is beautiful and the food is great. The prix fix menu is a good value.
