New Orleans - Orlando... car or plane?
We're flying into New Orleans for three days, followed by a week in Orlando; I'd prefer to go from NO to Orlando by plane, but my friend says he'd like to go by car. I know it's about a 10h drive, but that wouldn't botter me if it was more or less scenic and not just 10h of monotonuous highway guzzling. Is NO-Orlando a nice road trip, or will it just make us much too tired to enjoy Orlando for the next few days?

IMO Since the airfare RT from NO to Orlando is so cheap I would fly. No matter how scenic the drive is it's more stressful and tiring. And to take a flight with no stops is quick and cheap ($39 each way)....
I've never driven that route but I say 'Fly,Fly,Fly' Good Luck whatever you decide!! Debbie |
Definitely FLY! Unless you love pine trees it is not a scenic drive.

It is boring as all get out. We drive from NO to Jax & then down to Orlando & it seems forever. Plus the bridge E to Pensacola is 1 lane & traffic really backs up. Going back the W bridge is 2 lane but still slow. When you consider the price of gas & lack of interesting places to see along the way, I'd fly.

Live in New Orleans area. DEFINITELY FLY....airfare is reasonable....try Southwest Airlines....interstate drive is not exciting

Fly, fly, fly. That is a very long drive and the airfare is soooo cheap.

Driving down the state of Florida is the most mind-numbing experience EVER. Knowing there are miles and miles of beautiful beaches on either side of you -- that you CAN'T SEE will make it even worse.
FLY!!! |
Adding to the chorus...fly. NO REASON to drive with airfares in the $150 range.
