I'd just like to point out that May is one of the drier months in New Orleans. Late April/early May is statistically one of the driest times in New Orleans. Now, New Orleans being New Orleans, that is still wetter than other parts of the country. But the rainy seasons (there are two in New Orleans) are the dead of winter and height of summer. The spring and fall are the dry times. This is opposite of many parts of the country.
Jazz Fest is one of the greatest festivals in the country.
