New Orleans: Is 2 hours enough time to enjoy brunch at Commander's Palace?

We're going with friends to New Orleans in early March. I took the only available reservation I could get to the jazz brunch at Commander's Palace. That is at 11:30. There is a Free Tours by Foot tour of the Garden District and Lafayette Cemetery that starts at 1:30 and meets at southwest corner of Prytania St. and Washington Ave. I'd like to combine these activities but don't want to shortchange my brunch. What do you all think?

The tours is a very short walk from CP. You should be fine! Both are excellent!

Yes. You are steps away.

Suki, the prettiest photos I've ever taken in NOLA were during a ramble to Magazine street. We got off the streetcar at the 8th street stop, wandered down Harmony Street to Magazine, shopped (and stopped at Sucre) and then back up Sixth (toward the stop). We heard noise and glanced over, past the cemetery and realized it was the CP. One of my favorite afternoons in NOLA. Homes and porches were still decorated for Christmas, lemon trees were full and beads were still in the limbs of the trees. A perfect New Orleans afternoon. Consider wandering the neighborhood after your tour. Gorgeous.

Sounds lovely. Thanks.

The timing will be perfect. Two hours is enough time to have brunch at Commander's although we often choose to take longer than that. Ask for a window table in the Garden Room on the second floor overlooking the oak trees on the patio. The tour starts on the same block the restaurant is on. Great way to spend the afternoon. Enjoy.
