New Orleans: info on carriage rides

for New Orlenas: Does any one know approximately how much is charged for a carriage ride or open air horse and buggy ride in the French Quarter.

Are prices per person or per carriage?

Is is usually cash or do drivers take credit cards.

Thanks

My husband and I took a carriage ride and I think it was around $50 for 2 people for about an hour ride. It's kind of expensive, but a lot of fun so I thought it was worth the cost. I think we paid with a credit card.

How long ago was your trip? Was there a commentary by the driver as well or was it just a ride?

My husband and 4 others just did it the end of March. I think they paid 20 a person? plus an extra 20 to have the driver drop them off at their hotels.
He raved about it and said it was extremely informative. Such as showing where the buildings are super wide with lights from way back when, when the carriages pulled through to park. I never would have noticed that.
I was with other friends over and Harrahs and missed out on that. :(
I say go for it.

Our trip was almost 2 years ago, so prices may have gone up a bit since then. Our driver was great - he told us a lot about the FQ and New Orleans and told us some great tall tales.
