Glad you had a good trip. We've just started preliminary plans for our next trip to New Orleans :)

I'm glad you were safe. However, your safety doesn't mean the area you were traveling in was safe. Listen to the locals and frequent travelers: NOLA isn't NYC. New Orleans reminds me a bit of San Francisco in that it's very authentic and requires a bit of thought before venturing out at night. I love all 3 cities, but I'm careful (not paranoid at all) when I visit them.
