New Orleans Hotel Choice
 

I will be in NO July 3-5 before a cruise. We will have our car. I want a nice hotel in French Quarter or within a few blocks, with parking. I can get comparable good rates at Omni Royal Crescent and Hotel Monteleone - which is better? Also Ambassador Hotel NO has lower rating but has a great special rate. Has anyone stayed there? First visit there - Thanks for your help. Leta

Go to Tripadvisor.com and look for these hotels under "search." You will recieve reviews from people who have stayed there.

I really like Maison Dupuy on Toulouse Street. Everything in the Quarter is walkable, and it's a lovely hotel with a nice restaurant and parking.

loved the Omni Royal. Monteleone seems to get very mixed reports. Have only been to its Carousel bar so can't comment really.

The Ambassador SUCKS so I'd avoid it completely. The Omni and Monteleone are both nice.

Personally, I think you can't do wrong at the Monteleone.
