We are arranging to travel to New Orleans for the millinium. We have contacted the Hilton Riverside Hotel, and it seems very nice. But then we heard about he other Hilton - the "Hilton Airport" Hotel that we heard was nicer. I find this hard to believe... Has anyone stayed at one of these hotels, or can recommend another? Thanks!

I have stayed at the Hilton Riverside very nice hotel. If there's a nicer Hilton at the airport, I sure haven't seen it. Been living here all my life. Besides, the Hilton Riverside is close to all of the attractions you will most likey be visiting.

You do not want to stay out at the airport if you're coming to New Orleans as a tourist.

I've also stayed at the Hilton Riverside and found it to be fine. But it does not have any of the charm of the smaller, French Quarter hotels.

The Hilton Riverside is nice but incredibly large and impersonal. Good location, as it's snuggled between the Quarter, Harrah's Casino, and the Riverwalk/Convention Center. Too large for my tastes but a sound value nonetheless. The Airport Hilton is the class of New Orleans' airport properties but it's far short of the "big" Hilton.
