New Orleans Dinner
 

I posted this last week with no replies, hope someone can help. Due to time restraints, I must choose between a dinner at either Peristyle or Bayona. Which one would you choose and why? Thanks in advance.

Try your question at chowhound.com. Lot's of interesting posts there.<BR>Personally my favorite restaurant on my last visit was a relatively new place named 'Stella!' Nice ambience and fantastic food. I enjoyed it even more than Bayona.

You really can't go wrong with either Bayona or Peristyle. If I HAD to choose, Bayona would probably win out although I'd be perfectly happy with either. (I don't believe Peristyle will accept bookings for more than 6 weeks or so in advance)

I agree with John - either place is good. I believe that Bayona has a more limited menu selection than Peristyle, but I haven't eaten at either place very recently - so I'm not 100% sure on that. I like the atmosphere at Bayona better than Peristyle.

Zagats lists Bayona as it's number 3 rated restaurant in New Orleans. As you may know it is based on a survey, so it is the opinion of many people who have eaten there. Commanders is number 1. Peristyle was not in the top 10.

Peristyle does not have any ratings in Zagats because of a fire closed the place temporarily a couple of years ago. FYI. It takes Zagats a year or two to catch up.
