New Orleans Bound
 

I am retiring in Sept and have always wanted to go to New Orleans. Looking for -theoretically - a chat room where I can say where I want to go and what I want to do and have someone tell me how to accomplish it. I find travel sites too cumbersome…am I in the right place here?

Why don't you give it a try? You can post your thoughts here and see what feedback you get. I suggest also picking up a New Orleans guidebook if you don't have one.

Since you are retiring in Sept., late fall would be a good time to visit NO. December before Christmas would be perfect. Lower humidity but still warm temps.

Perhaps you should contact a travel agent who can help you plan an individualized trip to New Orleans.
