New Orleans Anniversary trip

Thinking of going to NO next summer for 3 days or so to celebrate our 25th anniversary! I have been there before but wife hasn't, looking for a great romantic place to stay near to the French Quarter that wouldn't be overly pricey in the summer, we actually would probably be going mid-week if prices are better then.

A bed and breakfast or a boutique hotel might be fun, would like to have a pool to cool off after all the heat and humidity. Any ideas.

This would be around July 25th if that would give you any help.

Not sure if you're looking for something like this, but I love the Hotel Monteleone. It's in the French Quarter and it had lots of character and a very nice rooftop pool. The bar in the hotel is called The Carousel and it goes around in a circle and is a nice, dark, romantic place. Here is the website:

During the summer, you'll get good rates at almost any place.

I stayed at the Royal Sonesta several years ago for an anniversary at the end of June. The hotel has a lovely pool/courtyard area and many of the rooms have french doors that open up to this area. I thought the hotel was beautiful and was in a great location, as far as being able to get around the French Quarter easily. New Orleans will be so hot and humid then, so I think the pool is a must!

Meant to say end of July (not June), so I understand how hot and humid it will be during your annivesary. You should be able to find some hotels with summer prices, and staying between Monday and Thursday nights should help more.
