New Orleans airport to french quarter

What is the best way to get from the airport to the French Quarter with my two kids. They are 2 and 6? I can't find a hotel with shuttle service.

Cab, car rental or airport shuttle.

No Quarter hotels have airport transportation. The airport is a 20-30 minute drive with no traffic, 30-40 during high traffic times.

cheapest and actually quite effiicient is one of the airport shuttle services. i am sure if you go to the new orleans airport webpage there will be a ground transportation link. that should get you a list of shuttle services. usually you can buy a round trip and save money.

With two kids that young, I would just take a cab. The airport will have a set rate posted by the doors.

Highly recommend just taking a taxi. When we last visited New Orleans (before Katrina), we were advised to just phone United Taxi as soon as we picked up our bags. We did this, the operator gave us a taxi # and told us it would be along within 5 minutes (and it was). The fare was just a few dollars more than the shuttle (but there were only two of us) and the line at the shuttle desk was very, very long and moving slowly...
