i am interested in opinions of bienville house hotel in new orleans. this is my first visit to new orleans

The hotel has gotten good reviews on AOL's travel board. I haven't stayed there recently but found it to be noisy (thin walls and traffic noise from Decatur Street) when I was last there. Other people have said noise wasn't a problem for them, however. <BR> <BR>The restaurant, Gamay, is wonderful. Be sure to check it out.

This might not be a relavent reply to your request, but a word of warning, don't use the Saint Louis. We were recommended the hotel by the Louisiana Tourist Office, especially for their walk-in rates. They were rude in their manor and every time we needed something they kept us waiting. It took 45 minutes for our car to be delivered on our last morning. Not a good experience. Ohterwise New Orleans is WONDERFUL
