Has anyone taken a trip on a hot air balloon? Any info would be appreciated.

Yes, many times. It is wonderful. In fact, I am on a chase crew.

I am going to NM for a week with my DIL. Flying to ALB. and on the Santa Fe & Taos. Never been in the area before.
We would like to take a ride on a balloon. Is it necessary to make reservations in advance? Also How is it for taking photos? Thanks for the reply. Gwen

Just got back from two weeks in NM. We opted to take the balloon ride in Albuquerque since it was less expensive than Santa Fe. We thought the Rainbow Riders ride was awesome! Everything depends on the weather conditions. If it is too windy they cancel the ride. I would suggest making the reservations before hand and finding out when you can cancel, if need be.

Forgot-the pictures we took of the inflating and the other balloons while we were up were fantastic. Don't forget your camera! We flew over the Rio Grande river. The scenery was beautiful.
