New Hotel in key West?

Is there a new Hotel in Key West owned by Marriot? Is it the old Reach Hotel? If so, does anyone have any information on it? I think it may have just opened.Thanks.Best time to go,Feb-March?

The Marriott recently bought the Beachside Resort, which is out on Roosevelt. It was built as a luxury hotel/condo/restaurant complex but apparently has had lots of trouble getting business (in my opinion because of the lousy location).

I might add that it's been open for several years and is miles from the Reach, which has been recently renovated.

WE have Marriott reward points and were looking to use them. Is this Beachside Resort that bad? Were there years ago and stayed at The Reach which at that time was lovely.

The only problem with the Beachside is its location.

If you stay in Old Town, everything you want to do will be within walking distance. The Beachside, on the other hand, is on Roosevelt in New Town, and is close to nothing but strip malls and fast food joints. You'd have to either rent a car or bikes/mopeds (which I would NOT advise because Roosevelt is a very busy street).
