59 days...just under the 2 month mark!

Almost can't believe I'm so close...I can smell the salt air and feel the breeze!

Can't wait until my feet are on that Hawaiian earth!

I am so excited for you! We had to cancel back in 2009 and didn't go until 2011. I can imagine how you feel knowing you only have 10 days!

I know you will have a wonderful time on those magical islands! Can't wait to hear about it!

Just back from a month on the BI and to ease the withdrawal pangs I have booked lodging for trips at Thanksgiving and a month early next year. Now just have to get flights. I have to have something to look forward to ��! It's snowing here today and another looong countdown begins.

Thanks louistraveler5 - you have a good memory! Canceling our October trip was the right thing to do at the time, and now it's only 9 days away! I'll do a trip report when I return.

8 weeks!! Yeah it is a ways off but soooo looking forward to a week on the BI,followed by a week on north shore Kauai.
Can't wait to swim with the fishes!!

I'm leaving in 11 hours. I need to go to bed, but I'm too wound up!!!

Tax season is over...I work at a law/accountant firm so the hustle & bustle of tax time makes my countdown go by faster!

43 days!!!!!!! All of March and the first half of April have zoomed by! I really can't believe I'm this close!

Rant and Rave Hawaii Countdown.

Rant: Decided to cancel our June visit and do the Calif Coast from Santa Barb up to SF and home.

Rave: By time we go in Dec we'll have enuff HI Air miles for 2 "free" RTs.

So.....256 mo' days.

One month from today we will be hanging out in a wonderful cottage in Kona for a week then off to our favorite spot, north shore Kauai for a week., cannot wait to hear the frogs, toads, and birdsong. Anyone know of any bird walks in either island? Started bird watching over the past couple years and would love to do a day hike type walk with an experienced local...any suggestions?

17 days, 17 hours, 25 minutes says my countdown clock!!! No, I'm not that excited...;)!

Now that it's so close, my brother & K are sad they won't be joining us. They have recently been nostalgic...we got dinner together and upon exiting the restaurant my brother said the colors in the sky reminded him of Hawaii. We stepped out of store this past weekend and my brother said, it feels like stepping out of Lihue airport. It caught up to him and now he's sad to be missing this trip.

I will miss my brother & K but DH and I haven't been, alone, since 2012 so we are due for some time alone on our island, no sharing!

Speaking of due...my brother & K are embarking on their own adventure. I'm going to be an Aunt!

We talked over the weekend and Part III of a Tale of Two Siblings will continue in May 2017 for DH & K's bday!

Sadly, I must report, that I will not be partaking in the 2016 countdown. Shocking, right! DH & I are going, along with my Dad, to England. It's a big trip and we have been talking about it for 3 years. No room for Kauai...:`(.

I'm so sure all of you wanted this much insight into my life...;)! I will relish every moment of this upcoming week because I won't be back until 2017!

Exactly 70 days ago, we were to have landed in Honolulu, but, like with Kal, our plans changed (family health issue).
The good news is that we are rebooked for the end of a January now, flying in to Kona and back from Honolulu.
We are flying on points (Aeroplan), and this was the only date and flight combination I could get switched to, at the time; we are flying United. I could have kept trying, for weeks and weeks, for something different, but we'll be quite happy to be anywhere in Hawaii during what are usually the coldest 2 weeks of the year, here in The Frozen North.
Can't wait!

90+ going in Septemer to BI....Dreaming of my beach time.

Leaving TOMORROW!!! 13 hours and 55 minutes!!!

After 10 long months my feet will finally be back on that Hawaiian soil!
