depends on what you're looking for. In my opinion, Killington has the most for everyone...varied terrain and lots of it..lots o snow...places to eat, party, etc...probably a good place to start if you've never been

I love Loon and waterville in New Hampshire, Sugarbush,Okemo in Vermont.

Not crazy about the services at Killington although the mountain is great still not a favorite. Food at the Resort is pretty terrible. Not that you can expect much from any slope side cafeterias but Killington seem particularly bad for the $$$ it pulls in. You would be better off to pick up some frozen pizza and keep it in the trunk of your car. Meaning this is the quality you will find at Killington.

I was salivating at a chicken cesar salad with Romaine lettuce that a nearby table brought with them. I had Mac and cheese from the snow shack that you would not serve a dog :):).

A nice, not too crowded self contained ski resort is Bolton Valley Vt. Not as huge as Killington or Stowe, but still a good sized mountain.
