Mayflower Hotel on the park?

My daughter & are coming to New York in October. I booked the Comfort Inn Manhatten but have read the bad reviews and think I am going to cancel it. have spoke to people at work who say the Mayflower Hotel on the park is nice, also checking out the Bently and Best Western Woodward. Any output on these hotels. So many different rates on line for each of these hotels.

The Mayflower is at a great location--just near Lincoln Center and Central Park and not that far from the theater district, Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center, etc.

We loved Mayflower on the Park, especially our room. In fact, I would have gladly stayed in that room indefinitely. Comfortable, beautiful, with a nice view of the park. (The huge closet and the fridge made it very "livable" too.) Our air conditioner seized sometime during the night Friday. We reported this to the front desk on our way to breakfast Saturday morning. I was totally astonished when it had been repaired/replaced when we returned a couple of hours later. The doorman was fabulous in every way and full of information and great stories. The bartender gave us a pitcher of cream every night (we brought our own coffee pot). One of the best hotel "experiences" we've had anywhere.

Not an absolute specialist on Manhattan but thought the location for us was perfect. Don't know if all of the rooms have been refurbished yet, but be sure to ask for one.

A great, underrated place to stay in NYC. "An oasis of calm" convenient to everything. Be sure to ask/pay the extra $20 for a park side view -- well worth it. Higher floor the better, too. Subway station on the corner, Central Park across the street, and a 10 minute walk to Times Square or Fifth Avenue sights. There's no concierge, and you can't afford to eat there, but there are affordable restaurants and coffee shops behind it and all around. Enjoy.

Stayed at the Mayflower a year ago. Had a corner suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms ( were 4 of us ). Great view of Central Park and staff very helpful. A bargain for N.Y.C. Enjoy.

stayed at the Mayflower 2 years ago
and thought it was the perfect
location. Had a park view which was
great, but ask for a room on a high
floor so you can see over to the
east side and north and south. The
hotel itself was looking a tad bit
old inside the rooms but maybe they
have been remodeled by now. For the
price I dont think you can go wrong.

We stayed there last August and I highly recommend it. You could tell the place had a little age on it, but it was clean, beds very comfortable and the room was larger than I expected. The doorman was quite helpful. Would stay there again.
