Try Stowe, Vermont. We did that for Christmas one year with our children and really enjoyed it.

Another vote for Stowe. Spent last Christmas there with 5 adult children and 2 babies. Lots of choices for all - sleigh rides, XC & downhill skiing, snowshoeing, picture perfect village, interesting shopping, variety of restaurants.

Woodstock, VT. Just keep in mind that weather in NE can always be a surprise. On Christmas, it could be cold and snowy or warm and rainy.

White Mountains in NH are great. North Conway or Jackson. Lot's to do and tons of places to stay.
