New Coffee Place in Roseville, CA - Jericho

Hey, I know this will only interest maybe a handful of people here but I thought it was still worth posting.

I've been waiting for this place to open as the sign has been up ro awhile. I get tired of the overwhleming smell in the chain coffee place and it's too strong for me. So if you are done with the standard Fourbucks fare check out a new coffee house called Jericho. It’s on Sierra College Blvd south of Douglas, across the street from Safeway and next to the Subway/Dinner My Way/ Round Table Pizza.

Anyway, inside it’s really beautiful. There are some overstuffed chairs, a corner fireplace, tables and chairs and a wall fountain that give the inside a friendly, homey feel. They have a patio with iron tables and chairs. They have speakers on the patio and a view of a giant oak tree.

They have a room off to the side if you want to have a meeting or meet with a book club or other group. The table is great. It’s a bit taller than a regular table but not as tall as say a bar table. It makes it really comfortable.

They offer all of the coffee drink you would get at the chain stores but I thought the prices were a bit lower. They have a display of treats if you want something with your coffee drink. They also have blended non coffee drinks and bottled drinks too.

I know lots of people like the McDonalds of coffee but I thought the coffee at Jericho had a better flavor. The staff was really friendly and nice but I guess I never had a problem with fourbuck's staff anyway.

Just something new and fresh.

I've been watching this place too.I'm more interested in the pastry, than coffee. How was the selection?

I'm not so much a pastry person but I did notice that there were cinnamon buns with frosting, some muffins, sliced breads like lemon, orange poppyseed and cranberry walnut. I saw biscotti and one young person there was ordering a cheesey garlic breadstick which was heated up so I think any of the items in the case could be heated. They had crumb cakes and they said soon they have scones and cookies. If I think of anything else or when I go there again I can post anything I didn't remember.

thanks for the info. I go to the Borders and TJ Maxx on Douglas once in a while and my broker is on Professional Drive. So it isn't that close to home but I get out that way a couple of times a month - will definitely check it out.
