Has anyone test driven the 2013 Santa Fe? On paper (especially the 10-year warranty), seems a good choice in the category:

I have a 2011 CR-V and like it, but don't love it. The acceleration is a bit slow but once you're on the highway maintaining a certain speed, it's fine.

If it had 6 cylinders it would be much better, and it is a bit of a gas guzzler. I think the RAV is comparable, however, in most respects. Both have good cargo space, altho' I think the CR-V has a bit more.

If I had to do it over again, I'd look for a 2010 KIA Sportage. I rented one in AZ two years ago and loved how it handled on the road, but the design changed completely in 2011 so I went with the Cr-V. The 10 year, 100K warranty KIA gives is a great incentive, compared with Honda's 3 year, 36K warranty.

Brian- The Santa Fe and KIA Sorento are essentially the same car under the skin - both have the same warranty. I have the KIA for the past 23K miles and it has been a good car. Acceleration is a bit slow with the four but good enought for me - The 6 is much quicker and you don't give up much in mpg. On the highway it is fine and maintains speed - my highway mileage has been about 24 mpg. Bottom line, if you are interested in the Santa Fe, look at the KIA as well. Consumer Reports rates the Sorento very highly in its category.

basingstoke, the trailer is 4'X8' covered, and weighs in at around 1500-1700 pounds all loaded up. My 1999 CRV can take about 1000 pounds, max. The newer CRVs can take 1500. I live in a mountain state, so I don't feel like maxing it

It looks like the Rav4 V6 would be fine.

I wonder how many miles the Kia will hold up in all ways and how they will hold value. They are well styled and warrantied.
