New Brunswick Acadien Village
 

We are planning a trip next summer to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. I have read a little about the Village Historique Acadien in New Brunswick and it sounds intriguing. Is there anything else to do/see near there? Also, any recommended lodgings?

I have spent many a vacation on the east coast and although we didn't do alot of touristy stuff there, here are some suggestions. In New Brunswick you should head to the south to what is known as the Flower Pot Rocks. When the tide goes out you can walk on the ocean floor. Then watch the tide come back in. Also there's a reconditioned lighthouse just up the coast called Cape Enrage. High School students in the area got the needed funding to put it back together and now it's a little rest stop along the way. The Bay of Fundy National Park is worth a look see. The water in the Bay is one of the coldest in the world. If you manage to get up to the east side of New Brunswick stop in at Shediac. The Lobster capital of the world, or close to it any way. Lobster season I think is in July, there's probably info on the New Brunswick web site. Also don't forget to go to Moncton. The tidal bore, that's when the tide rises up the river, is worth catching as well. There is also one of the biggest malls, all one level, if you need a day inside. There are alot of B&B's on the East Coast. If you can find the time take the bridge over to PEI, it's nine miles long(the bridge that is) and the island itself is very picturesque. Nova Scotia is also worth the drive over. The Capre Breton trail as well as many places in New Brunswick have a very french(Acadian) flavour. Hope this helps.

Laura, you can just "copy" your original request (highlight the words you want and then CTRL + C, if you're using a PC/ Windows) and when you go to the Canada board, choose "post a new message"<BR>and paste (CTRL + V) the text there. No way to just move from one forum to another
