Very similar to an addage used in our home.."If you can't carry it, you don't need it"...

Love the bore quote... googled it and found that it was by Gian Gravina. Just a heads up...

Fraggie,

Thanks for giving the source of the "bore" quotation.

"Always wear clean underwear. You never know when you'll have an accident" :))

Faina - LOL - Touche - too funny

JAGIRL Jul 11th, 2006 03:53 PM

Was it Bill Cosby who countered that one? He said something like :
My mother always insists that I am to wear clean underwear because you never know when you'll be in an accident. But if you are in an accident who's gonna know that the underwear was clean? "Was" because first you say it and then you do it!

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Kal - OMG - you made me think of another one:

"Next time we go somewhere, we're going to leave you kids at home!!!

LOL - I actually always wished they would so I wouldn't have to spend all that time in the backseat with my brothers, but they always forgot that they promised me.

Kal Jul 11th, 2006 05:08 PM

cchow,
I always thought if we stop the car I could go tinkle (it was a tinkle back then...now that I've grown it's a "tunkle")

The other oft used saying was "Can't stop now...making good time"!:&

Most travel is best of all in the anticipation or the remembering; the reality has more to do with losing your luggage. ~Regina Nadelson

Of course, my fave should be,
"What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." Except that I always come home and blab about it.

chasechow Jul 11th, 2006 05:42 PM

Melissa, I always thought that Vegas thing would be easy. I'm amazed anybody remembers!

Too often travel, instead of broadening the mind, merely lengthens the conversation. ~Elizabeth Drew

The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. ~St. Augustine

I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move. ~Robert Louis Stevenson
