Just spent two days skiing Heavenly and Kirwood at Lake Tahoe. Snow is fantastic. Going to be a great year. Imagine Vail is also doing well. Heard things weren't so good in Vermont. One of the ski resorts there had to open their golf course for people due to lack of snow.

Hi,
I stongly reccomend Whistler-Blackcomb, in British Colombia, it is by far the best in the world. also, you make like Mont Tremblant just about 1.5 hours north of Montréal, for a very French cultural experience, you could spend some time in Montreal and all the different villages around Tremblant. do check them out. With all due respect to Louise, I don't think I would call Whistler the best in the world. However, it is quite nice. While I haven't skiied in Europe, I have skiied all over North America. Personally, I prefer the Rocky Mountain ski resorts (the steeper the better), although California is great, just not enough powder to suit me. For nightlife though, all of the areas you mentioned have some geared to the ski crowd, but for real night life, you can't beat what you'll find in the Vail or the Lake Tahoe areas.
