Need warm winter vacation ideas
We're an active couple in our early 60s and would like to take a week somewhere warm in October or November. We really don't want to have to rent a car, we're not into sports, we love nature (hiking, kayaking, sightseeing), and we've been thinking about Disney World (we're just big kids) but it's SO expensive!!
Ideas??? |
Key West. You can fly in and don't need a car while there (if you stay in Old Town). Even though it has a reputation for partying I find that I love all the historical attractions, good food, theater, water sports and "Caribbean " atmosphere. It's very easy to avoid the craziness.

While there are never any guarantees when it comes to predicting weather/temperatures generally speaking the further south you go, the warmer it will be. It would help if you define "warm" - do you mean in the 70's or are you thinking more like 80's or even 90's F.???
You've said Disney World is "SO expensive" but you didn't actually indicate what type of budget you actually have. So, how much is "SO expensive"???? If staying in the US south Florida will probably be warm especially Fort Lauderdale, Miami and the Keys as will locations along the west coast like Naples, Fort Meyers, Tampa, St. Petersburg, etc. New Orleans will probably meet your definition of warm in October and early November. Galveston, South Padre Island, and Corpus Christi will be warm at that time of the year. Southern California will also meet your temperature requirements. |
Palm Springs is usually still very warm (hot even) into at least the latter part of November.
