Need to hear from anyone who has stayed at the Atlantic Hotel In Ft Lauderdale, Florida???

I saw some good reviews on this hotel by starwood and some terrible reviews. One mentioned rats in the room. A couple reviews of the area being rundown and dangerous. Please advise. I have this hotel already booked. Thanks

Never stayed but I can not imagine that area as being rundown and dangerous,,,,I live a mile from there! A new Trump condo is going in next door and a St Regis nearby is opening soon. They are doing over that whole area. It will be abfab when done. John Kerry stayed at the Atlantic. It had a fab new restaurant callled Trina's.

The restaurant (Trina) and the Spa is amazing -- we were there (did not stay in the Hotel) last month.
I suspect people are confusing it with a hotel called the Atlantis -- old and in need of...well something. The Atlantis also has a spa (no comparrison)and at one time I hear was a lovely place to visit... The Atlantic is beautiful

Thank you for your help! I saw on tripadvisor someone complaining of rats in the room at the Atlantic and he paid $1999/night. These rates do sound like the Atlantic. I really hope this is a mistake. It is good to hear the area is ok, this is always important. Thank you for clarifying that misconception.

I think that guy is some disgruntled employee,,,very silly sounding and I can not imagine 1999$ a night maybe 199$ a night!

Yes GT, it is brand new, David Caruso has a unit there to stay in, when he films CSI: Miami here. I don't think David would own a rat infested condo.
