Need suggestions - women's lightweight hiking boot
I have a friend coming to visit and she is looking for either a boot or cross trainer that she can wear here in the Southwest and in Italy next month.
Has anyone got Merrell Moab Ventilator Hiking Shoes? They look pretty good and maybe what she is looking for in a boot. She prefers low cut boot/shoe. Any recommendations? Thanks! Debi |
I got the Merrell Chameleon, which was perfect for day hiking in the southwest canyons and trails. In fact, they are so comfortable I wear them all the time. Lightweight and supportive - with coolmax socks, it's like walking on a cloud! (I have a hard time with supportive shoes, so I was thrilled to find these).

I just bought a Merrill too. BUt I don't know what name they are . They kind if look like mesh type cross trainers. I was impressed with how light they were and how comfortable.
The girl told me they were a cross trainer/hiking shoe. The name printed inside the shoe is continuum, but don't kow if that's the name of the shoe. Sounds like different Merill might be the thing. |
I thought the OP said "crocs trainer" and I was like... What the heck?

don't have a particular style but i have always had the best result with merrills so far as fit comfort... just remember you can always adjust boot fit with additional insoles or or heel inserts you don't want shoes that don't fit well in the heel that can end up giving you a blister. also remember esp. in the southwest where you feet can get hot, NO COTTON in your socks. use coolmax or wool.

LL Bean carries several of the Merrell hikers. Try http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/sto...&langId=-1

I bought a pair of the Merrill's while we were in Utah after my old Nike's blew apart. I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes due to several foot problems but LOVE the Merrill's. They were great! My sister needed a pair of boots for a recent trip to Yellowstone. She also bought the Merrill's and thinks they're wonderful.

Try them on? I am always so amazed that what looks like you could just walk away in it can be SO uncomfortable!
