Need suggestions please.
In August, were taking a trip from IL to OR and so we are driving through Nebraska and I was wondering what is there to do or see in Nebraska that is a must do. We have 2 small children so anything that will catch their interest and make the trip less boring for them would be awesome.
So any suggestions of places to see, eat at or stay would be great, thanks! |
If your route takes you through Omaha, I would highly recommend a visit to the Henry Doorly Zoo.
www.omahazoo.com It is really a fabulous zoo and well worth a visit! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Doorly_Zoo |
Awesome, thank you so much. Have you been to the Linoln Children's Museum? Is it worth going to see? We'll be in Nebraska around 1 p.m. (Omaha) and 3ish in Lincoln and would like to see a few things until dinner time and spending the night.
Anyone have suggestions on a decent hotel? |
No, I'm sorry...I haven't been to the Lincoln Children's Museum. But it does get very high ratings on TripAdvisor.

Between Omaha and Lincoln there is one exit (Ashland I think) with a beautiful state park (Mahoney) with horseback riding, fabulous pool, nice restaurant, paddleboats, fishing, etc. AND the Strategic Air Command Museum, AND a native animal zoo that is affiliated with the main zoo in Omaha.
In Lincoln there is Elephant Hall on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln...it was a huge hit when I was growing up. Sorry I don't have any hotel suggestions, but Lincoln, like most college towns, has a nice downtown area with restaurants and shops. |
