Mauna Kea Beach Resort rooms

anyone tell me the difference between the Plumeria Beach Club rooms and Ocean view rooms at the Mauna Kea. There is a $50.00 per day difference in price - is it worth it for ocean views. Hotel said PBeach Club rooms are more eye level and o/view more panoramic.

My understanding is that the Plumeria Beach rooms are near the water--great for children, less so for couples without children. We opted for the oceanview rooms--can't say more, we are leaving in a week.

We had an ocean view room at Mauna Kea last December. Hope that you enjoy this wonderful hotel, with its beautiful
beach, as much as we did. Make sure to have dinner one evening at Bamboo Restaurant in Hawi.

If you look at this photo of the hotel, the high(er) rise part of the hotel to the left of the pool is the main part of the hotel. To the right of the hotel is the Plumeria wing. I think it is just 2 floors with a huge lawn between it and the ocean. Don't think you can go wrong with either. If you want easier beach access, I would opt for the Plumeria wing.

Hawi is about 20 miles away from the Mauna Kea--takes about 25 minutes.
