Need Suggestions for Stay in Mendocino
We will be traveling to Mendocino for two nights at the beginning of November and would like to stay at a luxurious inn or B&B with rooms or suites having an unobstructed ocean view. Where should we stay?

I know you posted for replies for Mendocino, yet the part you wrote about "unobstructed ocean view"
wants to recommend this place-20 minutes south of Mendocino town. http://tinyurl.com/o25o6 IMHO, of all the places I have stayed along the Mendocino coast, these are on the edge of a cliff and absolutely spectacular ! R5 |
We stayed at MacCallum House in the Napoleon Suite...had a *distant* view of the ocean (nothing like the house razzledazzle sent). But we loved the location...walking distance to everything in Mendocino. Also, the breakfast (included in room rate) at the MacCallum House was quite excellent.
Enjoy Mendocino...we loved it! |
The Bessie Strauss room at the Headlands Inn has a nice ocean view. The Joshua Grindle, a lovely inn, has a couple of rooms with more distant views, and I believe that room 325 in the garden suites of the Mendocino Hotel has a good view (check with the hotel on this and also read some current reviews of the Mendocino Hotel--rooms had been in need of refurbishing).

There really aren't that many places right IN Mendocino w/ wide open ocean views. If you are willing to head up or down hwy 1 a bit to places like Elk, Little river, etc there are more to choose from.
This site has some pretty luxurious properties all along that stretch of coast from Ft Bragg to Mendocino to Little River to Elk and a bit farther - but most of the ones in Mendocino aren't right on the water. http://www.mendocino.com/mendocino-b...reakfasts.html |
