Need suggestions for southern tip

My wife and I plan to spend about a week late in February exploring the southern tip of Florida, including the Keys and Everglades. We'll fly into Miami and rent a car; we prefer to move around, rather than staying in one place for a long period of time. Any helpful suggestions will be appreciated.

Stay in Islamorada for few days & get the real laid back keys feeling. Then go on down to Key West & party, shop, visit museums, go to Mallory Square for sunset activities, go on a sunset cruise with Floridays ( can do this in Islamorada to) & try to stay in one of the best B&Bs in Key West such as Ambrosia or Ambrosia Too, Marquesa Hotel, Heron House, The Colony, La Pension, The Gardens Hotel & so on.

Late Feb can be very busy in Florida, especially south fla. You might have a hard time finding reservations without making them in advance.
