Need suggestions for Sedona Trip in December

Good morning all! My husband and I are going to Fly into Phoenix on Sat Dec 6 and are booked at the Hilton Sedona for 6 nights and fly back out of Phoenix on Sat ec 13. We need a nice, not real expensive hotel for the last nite. Most importantly it must be near the airport. I need suggestions for an itinerary for that whole week also. The only known activity is my husband would like to hire a helicopter for one day (private, not part of a group) to fly him around grand canyon. I do not like to fly particularly so I thought I might do a donkey ride that day. Beyond that I have no ideas. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks a bunch.

If you stay at Hiltons for the points, there is an acceptable airport Hilton w/ a free shuttle. As far as airport hotels go, I'd recommend either a newish Marriott or the Wyndham Buttes. The Buttes has a nice hilltop setting and some of the rooms have great views. Top of the Rock is a nice restaurant, too. Enjoy your trip!

Pink Jeep Tours offers fantastic adventures in Sedona. We did the cave art one, and enjoyed the hiking, scenery and art. Check out their page

thanks to both of you! Yea, we stay at Hilton's for the points which is why we are staying at the Sedona Hilton. Have 6 free nites. However the Wyndham Buttes seems nice from what you say. One nite won't hurt us points wise. I'll check that out.
As for the pink jeep tours, they sound fun. So I will be sure to try that also. They offer different tours? Does anybody else out there have any other ideas?
Thanks a bunch.
