need suggestion for airport hotel w/ shuttle in Chicago

I just booked mom on a trip to Slovakia and she's got to overnight in Chicago on her way home. Can anyone suggest a hotel near the airport with transportation? Thanks!

I assume that you mean O'Hare.
We've stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott on Des Plaines River Road several times.
There is also a hotel (Hilton, I believe) attached to the airport.

What's your budget? As the previous poster said, there's a Hilton within in the airport. Outside the hotel, you can find everything from the Red Roof and Hampton Inn to the Intercontinental and Westin.

Many of the nearby hotels have shuttle service and some are within walking distance of the CTA Blue Line train at the Cumberland or Rosemont stops. The Blue Line stops under the parking garage adjacent to the domestic termals.

Thanks, yes, I mean O'Hare. Budget isn't as much of a factor as is ease of getting to and from the airport. She's travelling with my uncle, who's in his late 70's - door-to-door is more their style.

If that's the case, the Hilton may be your best bet.

According to their websites, the Holiday Inn on W Higgins Road and the Crowne Plaza on N River Road have a shuttle. Some rooms at the CP have microwaves and mini-refrigerators, so if they wanted to have a cup of coffee or tea without leaving their room, they could. The Holiday Inn has Harry Caray's restaurant attached, so they'd be able to get a nice dinner if they wished.

The Residence Inn or Marriott Suites in Rosemont would also offer the same amenities as above. I'm not sure what restaurants are nearby. Finally, there's a Spring Hill Suites on W Higgins Rd that's about a year old. It has a Outback Steakhouse attached.

There are several other hotels in Rosemont which is about a mile east of ORD that include Sofitel, Westin, Hyatt, Intercontinental, Renaissance.

If you want someplace where they'll have a bit more room to relax between their flights, I'd go with one of the all-suite hotels. The rate you find will depend on the exact dates they're traveling because that area hosts lots of small/medium size conventions and exhibits. Just do a bit of comparison shopping and you'll be able to find something that suits your needs and pocketbook.

The Hilton would be my clear #1 choice. They would stay warm and dry, have some decent restaurant choices and no worries about transport to/from the airport.

The hotel is connected to the terminal. It could not be easier for them.

Forgot to add that if the layover is between Slovakia and your mom's home airport, they'll arrive at Terminal 5 (International). The Hilton is adjacent to Terminal 2. After they clear Customs & Border Patrol, they'll need to take the escalator or elevator upstairs and catch the airport tram to Terminal 2. If they need help, there are agents in each station to direct them.

When they reach Terminal 2, there will be signs directing them back downstairs to the Hilton.
