We were in Myrtle Beach last April and I was very dissapointed. It is one long road of strip malls, tee shirt shops and miniature golf...I've never seen so many miniature golf places in my life. And if you like Calabash fried seafood you'll be in heaven!
If I had it to do over again, I'd stay south of Myrtle Beach (25 miles) at Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort or Litchfield Plantation which Frommers guide (my bible) loves and says "Along the banks of the Waccamaw River, Litchfield Plantation is at the end of a quarter mile avenue of live oaks. A stately Manor house, circa 1750 with four suites. Rates include the use of a private pool, cabana, private beach club at Pawleys Island and there are numerous championship golf courses in the area. The 800 number is 800-869-1410 and the rates stated in the Frommers guide are anywhere from 140-220 per night. There is a website listed also www.litchfieldplantation.com.
Try the website the poster listed above to see more information on Myrtle Beach.
The Frommers guide favorite place in Myrtle Beach was Kingston Plantation, but after looking I don't see that any of the places have "spa" facilites. By this I'm assuming you mean facials, massage, steam room etc.?
