Need some help from Boston
Hello All,
I'm planning on a weekend getaway in April and I'm torn over hotels / areas. We're coming via train to Back Bay and there will be no car (a true getaway for me). I'm a Hilton Diamond VIP member so I can get any of their properties for free. I've read some not so glowing reviews about the Hilton Back Bay on Trip Advisor and I don't see much on the Doubletree on Washinton Street. I don't know much about the area - Theatre District - at night. Any help ? |
Hilton is in a great location...near shops, restaurants, etc. It''s true the Doubletree is on Tremont Street, actually if I'm right next to the Shubert, across from the Wangh and around the corner from the Colonial.. If it were me (I'm a Bostonian) I'd pick the Hilton..Better check to see your not scheduled for weekend of the "Race"...if you are chances of getting a room anywhere in Boston are pretty slim.

I don't know what the negative reviews were all about on tripadvisor, but we stayed at the Hilton Back Bay last year and would return there any time. We had a wonderful experience at the faciity.
Plus, it's a great location for walking just about everywhere. |
One more vote for the Hilton.
If it's raining you can just cross the street and enter the lobby of the Sheraton which connects to the Prudential (tower and mall). Have a great time! |
STayed at the Hilton twice in the last 18 months. Both times we had deluxe rooms and you would have thought you were in two different hotels because the decors were so different. But both were great (sleek vs. traditional). I wouldn't hesitate to stay again - and probably will in Feb.

I live here so dont know the hotels outside of their restaurants or bars but you have the best location in the Hilton.

I would not question the safety of any Boston Hotel at night.

Hilton is a safe area.
