Need Restaurant in St. Michaels Maryland
I'm taking several VIP clients to St. Michaels for a meeting in September, and I'm looking for a couple of upscale restaurants for dinner. Also if anyone has suggestions of some kind of activity that would be great. In the past we've gone to the Berkshires, gone to dinner and then one of the summer plays. Thanks!

If you want an activity with Shore flavor take a cruise on a skipjack. The Ruark http://www.skipjack.org/ and Krentz http://www.oystercatcher.com/ both offer tours from St. Michaels. These historic working Bay boats should impress your clients. No help on restaurants, sorry.

We had dinner at 208 Talbot about a year ago. It was excellent and will certainly meet your criteria. Check their website since I think they are closed a couple of days during the week. I've also heard good things about Bistro St Michaels but have not eaten there.

The Inn at Perry Cabin is considered the deluxe eating establishment in St. Michael's. I've never eaten there. My wife and I have dined at Rorke's Town Dock for many years now and we enjoy it immensely. It is more casual than many high-dollar restaurants, however. If you really wanted to give your clients a treat, take the Belleview-Oxford Ferry (ten minutes southeast of Oxford) over to Oxford and eat at the wonderful Robert Morris Inn (built circa 1715). The Robert Morris serves the best crabcakes in the universe.

what days will you be there? most of the good restaurants are closed tue and wed.
top of the list, all excellent, are: 208 talbot inn at perry cabin the bistro if you want to drive to easton-15 min: inn at easton columbia out of the fire masons for activities, i'd try to get out on the water. skipjack cruise is a great idea. we went on the hm krentz for my bridesmaid luncheon and it was great. sirius is a large catamaran that operates out of st. michaels. you can also charter a sailboat out of oxford. the maritime museum might have some things going on, cbmm.org. also check out stmichaelsmd.org. they list events such as concerts in the park--though these can't compare to a summer stock play in the bershires. |
Thank you everyone for the suggestions! They will certainly help with the planning!

kate29, may I repair my post by saying that the Belleview-Oxford Ferry is ten miles southeast of St. Michael's. It is privately run, fits about ten cars, and takes about ten minutes to cross the Miles River.
