Need restaurant in NYC near ....
Day 1 matinee Doubt on 48th st. We like Thai and French or just good American..getting tired of Italian (we are
at my sister's in NJ)but if it is really great would go. Day 2 Metropolitan and Guggenheim but we can eat anywhere on way to train station (Pennsylvania) Day 3 MOMA Thanks.. |

Day 3:
The Bar Room at the Modern in the MOMA - they offer slightly larger than tapas-size servings but very well prepared under the direction of chef Gerald Kleuther and his Alsatian-inspired vision. Very good wine list that matches well with the dishes, too. Brasserie LCB (La Cote Basque) also on 55th Street (closer to 6th Ave.) is an old-time very French brasserrie that always comes through with solid dishes. Their casssoulet continues to be one of the better ones in NYC. |

I actually think you don't need to eat near those places, except for maybe the theatre. The area around MOMA is a little dismal food wise. Taxis are so cheap and convenient, why not go to Union Square, or Tribeca, or Chelsea for a meal and have more of an adventure.
