Day 3:

The Bar Room at the Modern in the MOMA - they offer slightly larger than tapas-size servings but very well prepared under the direction of chef Gerald Kleuther and his Alsatian-inspired vision. Very good wine list that matches well with the dishes, too.

Brasserie LCB (La Cote Basque) also on 55th Street (closer to 6th Ave.) is an old-time very French brasserrie that always comes through with solid dishes. Their casssoulet continues to be one of the better ones in NYC.

I actually think you don't need to eat near those places, except for maybe the theatre. The area around MOMA is a little dismal food wise. Taxis are so cheap and convenient, why not go to Union Square, or Tribeca, or Chelsea for a meal and have more of an adventure.
