Hi-
I'm going to LA and need a blow out before a wedding. I"m staying at the London LA at Sunset and San Vicente Boulevard. The Alex Roldan hair salon is in the hotel but I would love other suggestions nearby. I am not looking for someone to wash and flat iron my hair, but to blow it out with a round brush-and nicely! Nothing terribly expensive but I'll pay for a great blow out.

This doesn't sound like a complicated hair do.......remember its LA..land of aspiring TV and movie stars....MOST places you would go to will be able to do a pretty good job on something like this.
Watch to see what people look like who come out of this salon, if you don't like it, ask your conciege for another name.

Well, seeing as I will be really busy once I get to LA I am hoping to book an appointment before I leave for my trip. I don't have time to watch people leaving the salon in the hotel. Also, I had a bad experience at another wedding earlier this year (with the same basic hair style) so I'd like to speak to the stylist ahead of time.

Really, just need a few recommendations of salons near that area. That's all. Thank you.

Have you tried Yelp.com? They give locations of places like salons, as well as user ratings. I found them very helpful when I wanted to get my nails done in Chicago.

Yes I have done some research but I was hoping to hear from some fodorites who live in Los Angeles with their own personal recommendations. B2V Salon also looks interesting.

Call Michael M. his cell phone is 310 890 7018. He's just moved to another salon in Beverly Hills, but I don't have that number. If he can't do it, ask him to put you in contact with Michelina....Either one can and will do a fabulous job.
