Need recommendations for which area to stay, near/in Phoenix
Heading to Phoenix for a quick 4 night trip. We will be attending a college graduation at the University of Phoenix one day, and the remaining days we would like to hike and sitesee (we will rent a car).
We would prefer a condo (there will be 2 couples) that is under $200 per night. We have never been to Phoenix or Scottsdale, so we don't know which area is best to stay. Please let me know if you have recommendations on specific areas, or even specific condo complexes listed on VRBO.com. Thank you! |
Anyone??? Thanks!

What is the location of U of Phoenix graduation?
|
The U of P stadium. Thx.
Also, is $375 a good flight price from the east coast to PHX? |
I'm not sure when your trip is, but you should be able to get great rates right now at some of the condo resorts in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Try: Westin Kierland Villas, Sheraton Desert Oasis, Marriott's Canyon Villas. This way, you have the amenities of a resort and the room & convenience of a condo.

U of Phoenix stadium is in the far west of Phoenix. Staying in Scottsdale would be quite a trek to the area of the graduation. You could try for Pointe Tapatio Cliffs in north central Phoenix and about ten miles from the stadium and in the midst of loads of hiking areas and they do have condo type rooms available. Don't know what else is available in west Phoenix close to the stadium, but that is a new area with motel type accomodations, but not much in the way of sightseeing.

Actually using Loop 101, the Scottsdale resorts aren't that far out of the way of U of PHX Stadium. I'd stay there instead of N. Central Phx since you only need to go to the stadium once. The places listed by lvk are all good options.
