Need reccomendation for hotel in Hana

I am considering staying a night in Hana. I would love recommendations for accomodations in Hana, other than the Hotel Hana Maui. The Hotel Hana Maui has received quite a few unfavorable reviews lately.

Just thought I'd bring up a recent posting for you from another poster who's had a great experienc at this beautiful resort.

Author: kt ([email protected])
Date: 04/14/2002, 04:45 pm
Message: Tony:

I have stayed twice in the last two years and loved it! It is a really special place to stay. I have stayed at a number of hotels in Hawaii, but there is something very unique at the Hotel Hana -- the peacefulness, the space, I don't know -- it is one place that just gets into your soul.

Apparently, a few years ago it had become run down, but with new owners it no longer is so. As an indication of its better condition, when I was there in December, Victoria Secret was doing a photo shoot at the hotel.

I would wholeheartedly recommend staying there is you are looking to stay in luxury, yet get away from it all.

We stayed in a condo in Hana for 4 days and LOVED IT we ate at the hotel and were not impressed. It was good but not worth the money. We loved the slower pace and the non tourists feel.

Thank you Lori and Patty. The Hana Maui website has beautiful photos and makes the resort seem almost otherworldly -it looks so peaceful. It IS expensive though and I don't want to be disappointed. We will be staying at the Four Seasons in Wailea and I don' want to be wishing that we were there for a few more days rather than at Hana Maui. However, the Road to Hana does seem a bit long to do as a round trip in one day. Do you have opinions on this?

Hana Maui Resort is paradise. Romantic and relaxing. Book one of the sea cottages with the private deck and hot tub. You won't be disappointed! You'll be so happy that you stayed a few days and enjoyed this delightful side of the island.

Hi Ann:

I am the kt that Lori brought up in her message. My husband and I had been to Maui a few times staying at the Four Seasons before we finally made it to the Hotel Hana Maui. For that trip we had resevations for two nights at the Hotel Hana then onto the Four Seasons. If we hadn't paid for the Four Seasons in advance, I am not sure we would have ever left Hotel Hana....
