Need nice hotel in Maui, 4 nights August, near Kaanapoli, around $150 per night

...helping a friend with a honeymoon & need some recommendations, please. Important that it have a nice beach.

Try the Napili Sunset Condos. They are just up the road just a little bit from Kaanapali and are very nice. They are on a very beautiful stretch of beach. website: www.napilisunset.com

The Renaissance Wailea seems to be highly recommended and with the Entertainment discount you can get a room in that price range. I think about $179 or so. Remember the Entertainment card from any state works for the hotel discounts - it's just the coupons in each book that are state specific. So if the Hawaii book is sold out, you can get the New York book & use that card at the hotel.
The Entertainment discount might work for the Outrigger Wailea also but I don't know much about that hotel.

You might want to try Kaanapali Beach Hotel - nice hotel right on the beach in center of Kaanapali.

If you want to be on Kaanapali Beach then you might be able to get the Whaler for close to $150 or Kaanapali Beach Hotel for a little more. Better choice is Kaanapali Beach Hotel. Both are along the walk that stretches in front of all the hotel and will take you to Whalers Village for restaurants and shopping. If you want to go further out you can do better than Naplili Sunset.
