Need Manhattan Beach Restaurant

.. to impress Australian colleagues on Wednesday night. I would like it to be fun and good food and drink but not overly stuffy (they are Engineers). Any suggestions?

Rock'n Fish. Seafood and Steaks, good drinks, nice but not stuffy. Not a huge room so if you have a larger party you should call ahead.

I don't think there's a preference.

Mike, I was checking that out on OpenTable. Perfect location, great menu, reservations available. Looks good.

We also like Fonz's for steak and seafood: www.fonzs.com/
Pancho's for Mexican food: www.panchosrestaurant.com/
Mangiamo for Italian: www.mangiamorestaurant.com

I would definitely choose a place down by the beach rather than any of the places along Rosecrans/Sepulveda.

Another vote for Fonz's.

Our Australian friends like Mangiamo, but I have to say the only time we go there is when these friends are in town. We prefer its much smaller sister restaurant Talia's.

A local friend recommended Petros. I am just a bit concerned because we always eat Greek when I'm there.

The food at Petros is very good, but I much prefer it for a weekend lunch, sitting outside with a view to the small plaza it's located on.
